Pick what to place (target or cannon), then click empty map space. Click a target to remove it. Click a cannon to select it: its model and settings load into the controls, its red range circle shows, and you can drag it or change its model, angle and shield. Range follows model and elevation automatically (you can still nudge the slider). With no cannon selected, drag the red circle’s center handle to use it as a free range tool. Circle scale is an estimated calibration—verify against the map’s 20 m × 20 m squares.
